
With more than 35 years of experience in the employee benefits industry, Bruce Mitchell joined Kelly Benefits Strategies (KBS) in 2017. Bruce focuses on strategic client support and project leadership for some of Kelly Benefits’ largest clients.
Prior to joining Kelly Benefits, Bruce was a senior member of the consulting team at Aon Hewitt (formerly Aon Consulting) for 20 years. Before that, Bruce was principal at Mercer. In those roles, Bruce led consulting engagements with large self-funded clients like CSC (now Perspecta) and Hilton Worldwide.
Throughout his career, Bruce has specialized in the development of benefit strategies and plan designs to ensure his clients implement the best programs to support their organization’s culture, business goals and risk tolerance. Early in his career, he helped pioneer flexible benefit plans, implementing a program at one of Maryland’s largest public school systems, which was also one of the first flex programs incorporated into a collective bargaining agreement.
Bruce holds Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation and has previously served as a CEBS instructor at Towson University. He is a graduate of Leadership Baltimore County and sits on the board of The Community Law Center. Bruce earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Johns Hopkins University. He resides in Sparks, Maryland with his wife Lisa, an artist.
