
Gene Bateman joined Kelly Benefits Strategies as a Lead Consultant and Senior Account Executive in December 2011. Through a deep understanding of each client’s unique employee and business needs, Gene leverages his expertise in the ever-changing and heavily regulated group benefits marketplace in order to help his clients recruit and retain the most desirable employees.
Gene has broad experience with companies of all sizes, with a specialty in large groups. His clients view him as their key resource for partnering on the creation, implementation, benchmarking, and funding of a cost-effective and financially transparent employee benefit plan. He works to help his clients drive down costs, understand health care, and integrate a plan into the overall strategic plan of their company.
In addition to owning his own brokerage firm for a number of years, Gene has 25 years of consulting experience, which includes roles as a sales consultant and strategic account manager.
Gene is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in Finance and Economics. He is an active member of the Maryland Association of Health Underwriters and has also been active in Annapolis, participating in the lobbying efforts of the Health Insurance Buyers & Brokers Coalition of Maryland in support of employer-friendly legislation.
