Breaking Ground for Baltimore’s Women and Children

25 OCTOBER 2019

BALTIMORE, MD – On Thursday, October 24, Frank Kelly III, CEO of Kelly & Associates Insurance Group/KELLY Payroll (KELLY) and his wife, Gayle, joined other area business, community, and civic leaders in a groundbreaking ceremony for Helping Up Mission’s new Women’s and Children’s Center.

Since 2018, Frank and Gayle have served as co-chairs of the $61 million Inspiring Hope campaign, which, to date, has raised more than $51.6 million to build the new facility. The planned 145,000 square foot building in the historic Jonestown neighborhood of East Baltimore will provide long-term recovery services and a home environment for up to 200 women battling addiction and homelessness and as many as 50 children. With a targeted completion date of fall 2021, it will include onsite counseling as well as residential, dining, and recreation space and a dedicated area for childcare.

Frank and Gayle see the new center as a natural extension of the Mission’s long-standing success at helping individuals transform their lives.

Providing faith-based recovery services for people and families experiencing homelessness and addiction, Helping Up Mission addresses the root issues of substance abuse and poverty by meeting an individual’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
