Kelly & Associates Insurance Group (Kelly Benefits) fights ALS with the Brigance Brigade Foundation

30 APRIL 2017
CANTON, MARYLAND – On Sunday, April 30, 2017, Kelly & Associates Insurance Group (KELLY) honored longtime friend of the Kelly family and former Baltimore Raven, O.J. Brigance’s 10-year anniversary of his ALS diagnosis at the 4th Annual Brigance Brigade Foundation’s 5.7K Championship Race and 1.57 Mile Walk at Canton Waterfront Park in Baltimore.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. O.J. and the Brigance Brigade Foundation have raised thousands of dollars to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS.
At the end of March, O.J. spoke at KELLY’s Corporate Meeting about “Finding Faith and Fortitude through Adversity.” O.J.’s empowering speech brought to life his claim that All Things Are Possible Fighting ALS. His inspiration over the past ten years during his fight inspired KELLY to make a difference in the lives of those living with ALS as well.
In 2017, the KELLY Team and the KELLY organization raised over $10,000 for the Brigance Brigade Foundation through various employee fundraising efforts and sponsorship support which is equivalent to the cost of more than five eye-gaze devices. These devices will provide the gift of communication to families in need. The philanthropic efforts that KELLY has supported through the Brigance Brigade Foundation will go to improve the quality of life for ALS patients and their families by providing access to much needed equipment, support services and guidance.
