11 NOVEMBER 2021

BALTIMORE, MD – On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, members of the Kelly family—including Kelly & Associates Insurance Group co-founders Janet and Frank Kelly Jr.; current Kelly Benefits owners Frank Kelly III, John Kelly, David Kelly and Bryan Kelly; as well as David Kelly Jr.—joined Cal Ripken Jr., Billy Ripken, and other city leaders and Board members of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation for the unveiling of the foundation’s 100th Youth Development Park it has built and gifted across the country.

The new BGE Field at Reedbird Park presented by Kelly Benefits is a $3 million, 83,000-square-foot waterfront field complex. A major element of Baltimore City’s new, sprawling Middle Branch Fitness and Wellness Center, scheduled to open in 2022, the multi-use field will support soccer, football, lacrosse, baseball, and softball, and will include lights and bleachers for recreational leagues and other after-school youth programs. It is the 16th Youth Development Park constructed in Maryland and will serve as a safe place to play and learn for children living in the underserved community of Cherry Hill and other South Baltimore neighborhoods.

Frank Kelly Jr., a former Ripken Foundation Board chairman and long-time Board member, states, “I have had the honor of being part of the Ripken Foundation since near the beginning and it brings me and everyone at Kelly Benefits great happiness when we see all that has been accomplished for kids in need. We are proud of our work in the community and our partnership with Cal and this foundation is extra special.” Frank Kelly III has also served on the Board for many years.

Celebrating its 20th year, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation teams with those committed to helping underserved youth achieve their full potential. Since 2001, partnerships with successful youth-serving organizations have enabled the Foundation to reach more than 1.2 million youth across the country and teach critical life lessons of leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic.

Kelly Benefits is pleased to support and partner with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to strengthen the most underserved and distressed communities across our nation.
