Kelly Family Honored with 2020 Distinguished Humanitarian Award at 28th Annual Penn-Mar Gala
9 MARCH 2020

HUNT VALLEY, MD – The Kelly family—including Kelly & Associates Insurance Group cofounders The Honorable Francis X. Kelly Jr. and Mrs. Janet Kelly, current owners Frank Kelly III, John Kelly, David Kelly, and Bryan Kelly, and their respective families—were honored as the 2020 Distinguished Humanitarian Award recipients at the 28th Annual Penn-Mar Back Tie Gala held on Saturday, March 7, 2020. The sold-out, globally inspired evening centered around Penn-Mar’s growing mission of transforming life into living for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in ways that promote value, independence, and self-determination.
The evening also honored and celebrated the life of Patty Larrick, former KELLY employee and part of Penn-Mar’s Competitive Employment Program. As a member of Penn-Mar’s partnership workforce, Patty worked for KELLY Administrative Services as a file clerk for 30 years, until her passing in 2017. Photos of Patty’s time at KELLY were shared with attendees through a video presentation, and she was remembered by Frank Kelly III as a positive, dedicated worker who brought much joy to the KELLY workplace.
Penn-Mar Human Services, founded in 1981, supports more than 500 adults with intellectual disabilities through its residential, respite, educational, day learning center, and community-based programs, plus customized employment support in northern Baltimore, Carroll, and Harford Counties in Maryland, and in southern York County in Pennsylvania. “The generosity of our supporters never ceases to amaze me,” stated Greg Miller, president, and CEO of Penn-Mar Human Services. “Without the kindness of our guests, sponsors, and donors, we wouldn’t be able to provide the same level of support to the individuals we’re committed to lifting up each day.”
The Distinguished Humanitarian Award is presented annually to specific Penn-Mar supporters who continually exemplify the organization’s core values of integrity, excellence, collaboration, and innovation. “The Kelly family exemplify a life of servant leadership and a commitment to their family, faith, and community,” Penn-Mar wrote in the event announcement. “Their dedication to world-class health care has made a marked difference in our community. They embody integrity, excellence, collaboration, and innovation, the core values shared by Penn-Mar Human Services.”
