Mason Douglass, Cristo Rey Jesuit Graduate sheds light on his internship at Kelly & Associates Insurance Group

BALTIMORE, MD – Mason Douglass, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Graduate feels his time interning at Kelly & Associates Insurance Group (KELLY) motivated him to give back to the Baltimore City community.
Cristo Rey Jesuit High School educates bright, college-bound students who hail from neighborhoods all over Baltimore and represent the cultural diversity of the city. Cristo Rey exists to transform lives by providing a close-knit, caring community for students to achieve their full potential.
In 2007, KELLY formed a Cristo Rey Internship Program that allows four high school students to intern at KELLY each year. The internship program provides students with an opportunity to work in one of KELLY’s many departments (Finance, IT, Administrative Services, Sales, etc.) based on what interests them the most, as well as, teaches them about KELLY’s history, values and mission.
Bryan Kelly, President of KELLY Marketing Services sits on the board at Cristo Rey. Bryan helped form the partnership between Cristo Rey and KELLY, giving him the opportunity to work closely with students such as Mason. “There’s a lot of bright young men and women in Baltimore City and if you give them an opportunity, I’m confident that they’re going to take it and run with it,” said Bryan. “To be able to be a little part of Mason’s success brings great joy to me, to our organization and to our family.”
Cristo Rey honored Mason at the “Celebration for the Future” event on September 19th in Baltimore, MD. Guests were given the opportunity to sit with Mason and learn about what he has been accomplishing in college, his career and the community since graduation from Cristo Rey in 2013.
Mason now attends community college where he is studying to become a nurse, “I am not going to school to become a nurse so my friends and I can show off our degrees. I am doing it so I can show my future son or daughter that you can be a successful kid from the City of Baltimore,” said Mason. “The Kelly’s gave back to me. I feel like I have to give back to my community. To them. To Cristo Rey.”
KELLY is extremely blessed to have young students like Mason be a part of our internship program every year. Not only do these kids learn and grow at KELLY; KELLY learns and grows from these students.
