Team Kelly Benefits – The Irish Ice takes the plunge for Special Olympics

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Kelly & Associates Insurance Group/KELLY Payroll’s Team KELLY – The Irish Ice took the 2018 Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge into the 30-degree Chesapeake Bay water at Sandy Point Park on Saturday, January 27th in support of the Special Olympics of Maryland.
The Special Olympics’ mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals two years and older with intellectual disabilities. This year, the Polar Bear Plunge raised over $196,000, giving individuals with intellectual disabilities continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, develop new skills and gain friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and their community.
In 2018, over 10,000 participants took the plunge at Sandy Point Park to benefit the 7,549 Maryland Special Olympics athletes. Team KELLY – The Irish Ice was happy to add to this number and be “freezin’ for a reason” alongside the immensely supportive and kindhearted crew that surrounded the 2018 MSP Polar Bear Plunge.
KELLY raised $3,000 for Special Olympics of Maryland through the Polar Bear Plunge, supporting the belief that through sports, we are able to create a world where opportunity is not limited by disability.
