Will Rodgers, Kelly Benefits Strategies and Brandonbilt Motorsports Season Recap

18 NOVEMBER 2019

FREDERICKSBURG, VA –Will Rodgers made the fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series start of his career this past weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway. With Friday’s inclement weather, Rodgers and the rest of the field could not complete more than 10 practice laps before Saturday’s qualifying effort. Among the 38 competitors, the No. 86 KELLY Benefit Strategies Chevrolet placed 32nd in the qualifying race and finished in the 22nd position at the 1.5-mile oval in the Ford EcoBoost 300 Championship.

“I want to thank my crew chief Doug Randolph and Tom Legeman, my spotter, for coaching me and helping me transition to racing as a rookie at Homestead Miami Speedway. Without much practice, I needed to lean on them, as well as Brandon Brown, to log in laps and learn as much as I could—not only for that race, but to carry the experience into the 2020 season,” said Rodgers.

“Overall the 2019 season wasn’t very long for me, but I gained valuable experience in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at two road courses, a short track, and intermediate track. I am appreciative of my supporters in all of my racing efforts including KELLY Benefit Strategies, Risk Management Advisors, and the American Liver Foundation.” The Maui, Hawai’i native continued, “It was crucial for my racing development to move up into the Xfinity Series and race at select tracks. I am proud of my association with Brandonbilt Motorsports and thankful for the environment that they provided, which is key in gaining the necessary experience for a long-term career in motorsports,” said Rodgers.
